In its first event for 2021,
Taksim Library introduced author Mahmut Şenol to Turkish book lovers in Edmonton. Taksim Library was established earlier in 2020 with the collaboration of Turkish Canadian Society’s Library Committee and several University of Alberta graduate students. In a virtual book signing event Turkish community members got a chance to hear about Mr. Şenol’s novel “Bay Konsolos” (Mr. Consul). Bay Konsolos was orginally published in 2005, with a reprint in 2020.
TCS had ordered 20 copies of Mr. Senol’s book for the virtual book signing events. Community members had a chance to purchase a copy of the book signed by author Mahmut Şenol. All proceeds from the sale of the book will be used by TCS Board to purchase new books for the Taksim Library.
